Now that iPhone photography has reached maturity I've been experimenting with more serious photo apps. My new favorite is Instagram. It's a Polaroid filter / friend-feed–social-networking-thing. Take a photo, throw on one of 11 filters, then share it via any of your networks. You can follow your friends' photo feeds as well. It's a great combination of retro-nostalgia photography with contemporary social networking.

Last weekend was the prize presentation for the Pennypack Photo Contest that was held in October. I was surprised and happy to learn that my photo At Play in the Field took First Place in the "People in Nature" theme for the contest. There were many great images that came out of this contest and it was a thrill to place in a category with so many great photos.
